The primary teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School in ophthalmology and otolaryngology, the Infirmary trains more than 110 residents and fellows each year in various sub-specialties. The Clinical Outcomes Research Unit (COR Unit) focuses on using patient-based and quality of life outcomes to improve clinical care. Under the direction of Richard Gliklich, MD, the COR Unit has developed a series of patient-based measures used internationally for clinical trials, registries, and quality improvement programs.
