Conference Location

The Summit will be held at The Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School's New Research Building at: 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston, Massachusetts.

The Longwood Medical Area is home to the Harvard Medical, Dental, and Public Health schools. Longwood features 21 medical and academic institutions. These include such renowned global institutions as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Joslin Diabetes Center, and the Center for Blood Research. Four of the nation's top five recipients of National Institute of Health (NIH) research funding are Longwood institutions.

We recommend making your reservations early as hotel rooms in Boston are very limited at this time of year. Please contact the following hotels directly and mention the Post-Approval Summit® to receive discounted rates.

A limited number of rooms have been reserved at each hotel for Summit attendees. The discounted rates will only be in effect until March 30, 2012. After this time, regular hotel rates will apply.

Complimentary shuttle buses are available from the hotels to the Conference Center at Harvard Medical each morning, to and from the Post-Approval Summit Opening Night Reception at the Skywalk Observatory, and to Logan International Airport on May 2.

Shuttle

Shuttle Buses for Hotels

Complimentary shuttle buses will be provided for transportation from the hotels to the Conference Center each morning of the conference. There will be two bus routes. One bus route will pick up at the Marriott Boston-Cambridge Hotel then pick-up at the Hotel Commonwealth and drop off at the Conference Center. A second bus route will pick up at the Sheraton Boston Hotel then pick-up at the Hilton Back Bay and drop off at the Conference Center.

Shuttle buses will also be available to take attendees from the Conference Center to the Skywalk Observatory on Tuesday, May 1, immediately following the close of sessions for the Opening Night Reception. There will be shuttle buses available to bring attendees back to the Hotel Commonwealth and Marriott Boston-Cambridge Hotel at the end of the reception. These buses will leave by 9:00pm. The Hilton Back Bay and Sheraton Boston Hotel are located at the reception site.

On Wednesday, May 2, buses will make trips to Logan Airport from the conference center.

Airport

AMTRAK

North Station

Coming from North of Boston, take the Amtrak to North Station. From North Station, you may either take the subway (the Green line), or a taxi into Boston. See subway directions below.

South Station

Coming from South of Boston, take the Amtrak to South Station. From South Station, you may either take the subway (the Red line to the Green Line), or a taxi into Boston. See subway directions below.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)

Attendees may wish to use the subway/train, “T,” to get to and around Boston. The MBTA website offers schedules and interactive menus to plan your trip. For the Post-Approval Summit, attendees can easily get to the Conference Center at Harvard Medical by taking the MBTA Green Line.

To get to the Conference Center at Harvard Medical by train:

Green Line - D Line Subway

Take train to Longwood Station. From station, turn left on to Chapel Street and walk up short hill to Longwood Avenue. Turn left on to Longwood Avenue. Follow until Avenue Louis Pasteur and take left. The Conference Center at Harvard Medical is on left (about a 15 minute walk from the Longwood Station).

OR

Green Line - E Line Subway

Take train to Longwood Medical Area Station. From stop, proceed down Longwood Avenue towards the hospitals. Take right onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The Conference Center at Harvard Medical is located on the left (about a 10 minute walk from the Longwood Medical Area Station).

Driving Directions

Take I-93 North to exit 26 (Cambridge/Storrow Drive). Keep left at the end of ramp and take underpass to Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2.5 miles to Kenmore Square exit (on left). Bear right at end of exit ramp into Kenmore Square. Take leftmost fork at intersection onto Brookline Avenue. Follow Brookline Avenue approximately 1 mile (Beth Israel Hospital will be on left) until Longwood Avenue. Take left on Longwood Avenue and follow approximately ¼ mile. Take left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The Conference Center at Harvard Medical is on left.

Take I-90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 18 (Cambridge/Allston). Bear right after toll booth at end of exit ramp. Turn right after lights (before the bridge) onto Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive (about one mile) to Kenmore Square exit. Bear right at end of exit ramp into Kenmore Square. Take leftmost fork at intersection onto Brookline Avenue. Follow Brookline Avenue approximately 1 mile (Beth Israel Hospital will be on left). until Longwood Avenue. Take left on Longwood Avenue and follow approximately ¼ mile. Take left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The Conference Center at Harvard Medical is on left.

Take I-93 South to exit 26 (Storrow Drive/North Station). Keep left at end of ramp and take underpass to Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2.5 miles to Kenmore Square exit (on left).
